William K. Vincett Jr., O.D.
Dr. William K. Vincett Jr., is a third-generation optometrist who owns and manages Vincett Eye Care Associates, an eight-doctor private practice in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Dr. Vincett specializes in advanced contact lens care and research, and has performed more than 20 clinical studies for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on behalf of major contact lens manufacturers. Additionally, he has instructed manufacturer sales forces on bifocal and soft contact lenses for astigmatism, served as a guest speaker at continuing education seminars, participated in corporate focus groups, and previously managed contact lens services for a 16-office, 19-doctor group.
He is known as an early adopter of new product and eye care technologies, being one of the first optometric professionals to offer patients the benefits of corneal topography for custom contact lens fittings, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) for eye disease diagnosis and management. He has internationally consulted practices interested in technology adoption and integration, written several articles for publication in national trade journals and newspapers, and provided professional comment for radio and television media regarding eye care issues.
Dr. Vincett currently serves as elected president of Practice Management Associates, a select group of 12 progressive optometric practices from across the country who meet regularly to share practice improvement ideas, and to help develop new products and services for ophthalmic companies. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Focus Group, which meets regularly to discuss practice issues and trends.
He performed his undergraduate work at the University of New Hampshire at Keene and Ohio State University, and received his doctorate at the Ohio State University College of Optometry.
Dr. Vincett resides in Fox Chapel with his wife Chris, a quality assurance specialist for Federal Home Loan Bank in Pittsburgh. They are the proud parents of Katie, a collegiate swimmer at Amherst College in Massachusetts, and Will, a high school squash/tennis player and chamber choir member at Shady Side Academy.
