Advanced Eye Care Technology
The latest sight-saving tools for early disease diagnosis and management.
As a Vincett Eye Care patient, your eye health is evaluated using the latest diagnostic technologies that allow your doctor to detect eye disease at its earliest and most treatable stages. For disease management, there is no need to drive into the city or to an unfamiliar location to receive the benefits of highly specialized testing used to clinically assess and manage your eye health. Many of these important tests are conveniently available at our office. The following are a few examples of the important clinical tools available at Vincett Eye Care Associates.

The Heidelberg Retinal Tomograph (HRT) is a confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscope that assists your eye doctor in earlier glaucoma diagnosis. It also can provide more accurate analysis of disease progression for proper management. This painless and noninvasive test, safely scans the optic nerve and adjacent nerve fiber layer to produce a three-dimensional topographic map. The HRT generates extremely accurate, detailed data for your doctor's comprehensive analysis that simply is not possible to obtain with traditional examinations.
The Humphrey Field Analyzer uses automated perimetry to measure your responses to visual stimuli. It is an important tool your doctor uses to test for the presence of blind spots in your visual field – the total area in which you can see objects in the side (peripheral) vision while you focus your eyes on a central point. A blind spot in the field of vision can be linked to a specific eye disease such as glaucoma, or a brain disorder such a residual effect from a stroke.
Vincett Eye Care Associates was one of the first optometric practices in the country to adopt corneal topography. It is a special test primarily used for complex contact lens fittings, keratoconus management, and pre-surgical evaluations for laser vision correction.
