Corrective Vision Options for Kids

Child wearing glassesEyewear

We offer several collections of eyewear geared to the likes and needs of children including Disney, Jelly Bean, Nine West, and Hush Puppies. For the best vision and safety, we recommend polycarbonate shatter-resistant lenses with scratch coating and UV protection. Our optical department also offers sports-specific safety glasses and sunglasses.

An affordable warranty program may be recommended if you are concerned about the possibility of eyewear breakage.

Contact Lenses

Girl without glassesAt some point your child may dislike wearing glasses, or find their eyewear interferes with their activities. When that occurs, we can help you determine if your child is ready for contacts. Typically, it's more important to judge a child's maturity level and desire for contacts rather than age. If your son or daughter is responsible enough to adhere to a daily hygiene routine and remembers to perform household chores without prodding, they are probably ready to wear contacts. This maturity can occur as early as age seven, and for many kids by age 11.
